Master Tung / Balance Method

MASTER TUNG ACUPUNCTURE

Master Tung Ching Ch’ang  has been referred to as one of the greatest Acupuncture technicians that have ever lived.

His unique family style was handed down through oral tradition until recently, thought to date back to the Han dynasty (206-220CE). He was a scholar of the I Ching and a Chinese Physician from Shandong province in eastern China.
During the cultural revolution Chinese medicine was modernised and many of the older traditions were either lost or went underground for fear of persecution. China in the 1950’s became unsafe for taoists, and Master Tung fled mainland China and settled in Taiwan where he was able to continue practicing his family tradition.

There are at least 500 unique points to his lineage. Before master Tung Died in 1975 he passed on his tradition to  disciples, one of whom was Dr Wei-Chieh Young who took Master Tung’s system to the U.S.

Master Tung Acupuncture, is an extraordinary system, which is known for being very effective and which can on occasion produce instantaneous clinical results. This style is particularly  renowned for treating pain. Unlike some approaches, which involve needling the area that is in distress, Tung Acupuncture uses distal points, which are often located far from the site of pain. it is equally effective for internal issues.

I have found this system to be a huge asset to what I offer for both pain issues and internal problems.

Acupuncture should have an immediate effect!

I have trained in this system with Dr Wei-Chieh Young  and Dr Robert Chu another great teacher of this tradition.

Balance Method

“Li Gan Jian Ying”

Stand a pole in the sun and see its shadow

It is said that the effects of stimulating acupuncture points should be that immediate

Balance Method Acupuncture can be astonishing for pain of any type, not just muscles and joints, but also for other pains in the body such as digestive and gynaecological pains.

One of the benefits of the Balance method is that it avoids needling into the affected area and the patients can move their joints and feel relief within seconds.

One of the great teachers who has brought these systems to the west was the late Dr Richard Tehfu Tan. Western interest in acupuncture was just beginning to take off when Dr Tan arrived in the US

Despite the growing global recognition of acupuncture’s benefits, he saw that the results of modern clinical practice weren’t as effective as what had been documented in historical texts or what he had observed in practice as a young man in Taiwan.

Several ancient acupuncture texts describe how a shadow appears the moment a pole is stood up under the sun.

The effects of stimulating acupuncture points should be that immediate.

I have trained in Si Yuan Balance Method Acupuncture.
